Summary:
Health Research, Inc. (HRI) Roswell Park Division is seeking a full-time Visual Translation Specialist or Visual Translation Specialist II. The Visual Translation Specialist works on interface design, illustrations or animations for applications of medical and non-medical subject matter; focuses on UX/UI design working directly with software engineers; applies the latest techniques utilizing the Adobe Creative Suite software, as needed, for creating interactive teaching tools; works on other creative projects if time allows and as directed by supervisor.
The Visual Translation Specialist II creates accurate, unique, and high-quality medical (surgical and anatomical) illustrations and 3D models using a variety of media. Utilizes created illustrations, 3D models, and 3D renders to develop education materials for expert and training surgeons, researchers and physicians, and patients. Utilizes the latest techniques, including Adobe Creative Cloud, ZBrush, Cinema4D, Blender, and Unity to translate complex medical information into engaging, understandable, and highly accurate visuals. Provides leadership to the Visual Translation Specialists and interns as a mentor, artistic and design content guide, and anatomical expert.
Salary range for the Visual Translation Specialist position is $52,122 - $65,976 which includes a comprehensive benefits package.
Salary range for the Visual Translation Specialist II position is $68,072 - $82,490 which includes a comprehensive benefits package.
Qualifications:
Required Education and Experience for Visual Translation Specialist II
Bachelor's degree in medical illustration or a related field from a recognized university-based medical illustration program and the equivalent of five (5) years of full-time experience in medical and/or scientific illustration and/or editing.
NOTE:
Required degrees must have been granted by an accredited school, college or university or one recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center as following acceptable educational practices.
Required Education and Experience Visual Translation Specialist
1. Bachelor's degree in medical illustration or a related field from a recognized university-based medical illustration program; or
2. Associate's degree in medical illustration or a related field from a recognized university-based medical illustration program and the equivalent of two (2) years of full-time experience in medical and/or scientific illustration and/or editing.
NOTE:
Required degrees must have been granted by an accredited school, college or university or one recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center as following acceptable educational practices.
Preferred Qualifications
The preferred candidate should have a Bachelor's degree in medical illustration or a related field from a recognized university based medical illustration program and the equivalent of five (5) - seven (7) years of full-time experience in medical and/or scientific illustration and/or editing. The preferred candidate should have strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage time; comprehension of anatomy, awareness of medical knowledge, and proficient research skills; and dedicated to excellence in collaboration, cooperation, teamwork, professionalism, and in providing superior customer service
