Job Description
The Visual and Studio Arts program at Sarah Lawrence College announces a one year, half-time, guest appointment with possible renewal an additional two years in sculpture, beginning Fall 2024. This guest faculty will teach one 5-credit studio course each semester with a maximum of fifteen students, and one 2-credit “concept class” during the fall semester. The committee welcomes artists working within traditional sculpture practices, as well as candidates possessing knowledge and understanding of new technologies, fiber, installation, site-specificity, or other time-based methods of making. Students are liberal arts candidates and may have varying experience in a sculpture studio.Required Qualifications
Further requirements include a strong exhibition record and at least one year of experience teaching at the undergraduate level. A belief in the importance of equity, justice and engagement underlies the program’s core understanding of the present moment in art and society. Please address these issues in your cover letter.
Your application should include the following: cover letter, CV, a pdf portfolio containing ten to twenty examples of recent work, and the names and contact information for three references. References do not need to send letters at this time.
