Unmanned Ground Vehicle Engineer

Responsibilities:
- Prepare and/or oversee development of drawings, specifications, and submittal schedules.
- Work cross-functionally with different teams and organizations
- Assist with the manufacture and assembly of unmanned ground vehicles
- Innovative mechanical design and rapid prototyping of advanced electro-mechanical systems
- Develop simulation and analysis test requirements for thermal management, fluid flow, structural integrity, and high vibration and shock environments
- Design validation test development
- Design documentation
- Technical communication with internal and external customers
- Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited school
- 5-7 years working as a mechanical engineer.
- Experience in the design of electro-mechanical systems using SolidWorks, PTC Creo, or similar 3D solid modeling CAD software. SolidWorks preferred.
- Must be able to work within a fast-paced environment, often with evolving requirements.

Preferred
- Experience in rapid prototyping utilizing 3D printers, metal and plastic machining, and carbon fiber is desired
- Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) for both structural, vibration, and shock analysis using Ansys or other similar simulation software is desired
- Experience in 2D drawing generation from solid model and in interpreting GD&T and designing using GD&T.
- Experience in hybrid automotive powertrains and vehicle design
- Experience interfacing and communicating with customers (preferably Government or DoD)
- Field test experience
- Experience working with machine shops to fabricate mechanical assemblies.
