Salary/Position Classification

  • $14.10 Hourly, Non-Exempt (Eligible for overtime)

Purpose of Position

This is a part-time, non-benefited position. Only UND students are eligible to be hired in this position.
Undergraduate student employees assisting other undergraduate students in library research.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • This nine-month (fall and spring semester) undergraduate position will provide peer research assistance for undergraduate students in a variety of methods including one-on-one interviews by email, chat, telephone and face-to-face.
  • They will assist librarians with library skills research instruction program in classes and creating materials such as Research Guides.
  • They will attend regularly scheduled professional development trainings with librarians and/or through online tutorials.
  • Provide research assistance to the campus community.

Minimum Requirements
  • Must be available during business hours, Monday through Friday
  • Must be enrolled for the semester being applied for (or fall semester if applying for summer session)
  • Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check

Preferred Qualifications
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA
  • Completed English 130 at UND
  • Work or volunteer experience in a library
  • Minimum of one semester as a senior student employee at the Chester Fritz Library
  • Due to the extensive training required, preference will be given to freshmen, sophomores, and juniors.
