CornellCookson, LLC is a leading manufacturer of Security Closure Products. We are seeking a Test Technician to join our New Product Development team in Goodyear, AZ, to design new products and improve existing designs. Activities range from R&D, conceptual design, prototyping, sourcing, testing, manufacturing integration, and engineering change order execution. Come join us and get your design juices flowing!

Some specific things you will get to do in this role:

  • Assemble and Test prototypes including electrical motor, electrical control system(up to 460V/3ph AC), mechanical components.
  • Design the testing plan according to the DFMEA and document the testing results. Hands-on and self-directed in the testing procedure to achieve the testing goal.
  • Understand/Have Electrical knowledge of the primary principle in electrical motor driving and electrical control systems. Be familiar with testing equipment, including multi-meter, thermometer, etc.
  • Own testing documents and keep track of multi-testing tasks. Provide feedback for the design and results of the testing. Creat testing reports with templates.
  • Be able complete installing the mechanical and electrical system(test stands and test benches) with tools and safety equipment according to the installation manual or instructions. 
  • Be able to follow safety and national code regulations in both mechanical and electrical installations. Testing may involve driving a forklift or a scissor lift.
  • Help communicate with the manufacturing department on work instructions involved in the test process.
  • Putting together the work Instruction with pictures for assembly process.

 

 



Job Requirements:

• Associate or Bachelor’s Degree
• A minimum 3 years of experience
• Need to be qualified to operate on a high power electrical system
• Knowledge and application of Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Vault
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work within a cross-functional team
• Proficiency with hand tools and basic power tools

Preferred Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience
• Knowledge of PLC control system
• Knowledge of repairing and/or installation of HVAC systems, access control, and building automation system
• Ability to make electrical or mechanical drawings 
• Experience in the door, access control, actuation, or building products industries
• Experience with welding, milling, laser, casting and other modern methods of metal fabrication
