We are searching for an experienced supervisor to guide our team and reinforce our reputation as a leader in water flow solutions. The ideal candidate will have the flexibility to oversee the details of daily operations along with more complex, systems-based protocols that demand strict adherence to regulation. The most successful supervisors will be passionate about people development, team based continuous improvement, quality control, achieved through effective employee training, process documentation, and implementation of company policy.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS DUTIES/RESPONSIBLITIES

  • Plan and lead the activities of production processes and personnel on various shifts during the manufacturing/assembly of products.
  • Maintains staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees and developing personal growth opportunities. Accomplishes staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees. Plans, monitors, and appraises job results. Conducts and documents training for all direct reports.
  • Partner with production department to manage workflow and ensure employees fully comprehend responsibilities and delegated tasks.
  • Direct production operations in accordance with established priorities and sequences for manufacturing products using knowledge of production processes and methods, machine and equipment capabilities and skilled labor.
  • Analyze production schedules to estimate work requirements for completion of job assignments and adjust staffing to meet scheduled requirements.
  • Own the quality of products produced with assistance from OPEX, Quality Assurance and Manufacturing Engineering personnel in testing, troubleshooting, and modifying processes to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of products.
  • Meet or exceed goals established for departmental KPI's including safety, efficiencies, schedule attainment, scrap, rework, and any other production related goals.
  • Initiate, suggest, and implement plans to motivate, empower, and develop employees to achieve goals in a team based continuous improvement environment.
  • Supervise and assist in the setup, operation, troubleshooting and maintenance of various automated machines, assembly equipment and/or machining centers.
  • Utilize lean principles including 5S, standardized work, waste identification and elimination, value stream mapping, team based multi-skilled workforce, one piece flow technology, visual factory concepts, and total productive maintenance to drive continuous improvement.
  • Actively seek to resolve any concerns while adhering to the company policy and standards of conduct.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • 2+ successful years of improving KPI's
  • 2+ years of performance management
  • Degree in fields related to Operations, Engineering or Manufacturing

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's degree and/or five (5) years leadership in a manufacturing environment experience.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Must be able to lift and carry or otherwise move up to fifty (50) pounds occasionally.
  • Must be able to sit and stand in a stationary position for prolonged periods of time.
  • Must be able to walk around in an industrial plant safety sensitive environment on an ongoing daily basis
  • Must have good manual dexterity (use of hands and fingers) to use a computer, copier, fax, phone, and multiple pieces of industrial equipment.
  • Occasionally ascend or descend stairs.
  • The person in this position must be able to manage a team, communicate with leadership, and other departments daily, so the ability to speak & communicate clearly and accurately is essential.
  • Position requires the ability to hear and see as this person will be on the plant floor in safety sensitive areas daily.
  • Must be able to work in both a plant (loud noises, cold/hot environment, machinery running) and office environment.
  • Must be able to function in a high-pressure production type environment

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
  • Up to 10% travel; mostly local.
