Staff Engineer
Silgan Dispensing Systems

This position is responsible for using engineering techniques and knowledge to assist in the development of new products, resolution of problems with existing products and processes.

Responsibilities:

• This position uses engineering principles and experience, to assist in the development of new products and processes, and the continuous improvement of existing products and processes.
• Develops test fixtures and methods to perform related functional testing and inspection. Performs lab testing as needed. Analyzes results to arrive at a conclusion and provides recommendations.
• Supports the engineering department by performing engineering analysis, including but not limited to strength of materials, heat transfer and fluid flow. Utilizes appropriate software to accomplish results.
• Interfaces with all departments to achieve objectives and goals.
• Performs statistical analysis to arrive at conclusions for process improvement projects and new project qualifications.
• Composes written engineering reports to support sales and operations. Creates presentations to assist in sales support.
• Directs workload of lab technicians as needed.
• Acts as a resource for all departments to solve problems.
• Interfaces with vendors and manages internal capital projects.
• When work in primary classification is not available, may perform other duties according to skill and availability.

Requirements

• BS degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Minimum of 3-5 years' experience
• Proficiency in Solid works
• Demonstrated knowledge of plastic injection molding
