Job Summary

Oversees and coordinates the day-to-day PSM/RMP Program activities for assigned areas to ensure compliance with OSHA's Process Safety Management (PSM) Standard and EPA's Risk Management Plan (RMP) regulations. Promotes, communicates and utilizes the company's process safety vision to employees and contractors, and stewards activities to achieve the company goals and initiatives while reducing process risk.

What you will be responsible for

  • Coordinates, leads, and participates in the company's PSM and RMP program activities at a local and asset level which include management of change, pre-startup safety review, and Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) activities
  • Coordinates, leads, and participates in field Management of Change (MOC) and Pre-Startup Safety Review (PSSR) meetings
  • Monitors, tracks and assists in training on operating procedures including the annual review, certification and initial/refresher training
  • Assists in creating and updating operating procedures as well as maintaining the operating procedure training matrix
  • Oversees, coordinates and participates in employee participation activities in accordance with the company's PSM and RMP programs
  • Promotes a process safety culture and provides assistance in driving improvements in the PSM/RMP programs
  • Conducts PSM and RMP training to facility, asset, regional employees and contractors and assists in development of training material
  • Provides support to facility's emergency preparedness and response activities
  • Facilitates and participates as needed in incident investigation activities for process safety-related incidents and near misses providing support in understanding and identifying process safety hazards and appropriate risk mitigate actions
  • Provides support in maintaining the facility's RMP plan including the offsite consequence analysis
  • Participates on corporate PSM/RMP compliance audits
  • Prepares for and provides support during OSHA and EPA audits of the PSM and RMP programs
  • Provides support and guidance to operations, maintenance and engineering for PSM/RMP compliance activities at a local or asset level
  • Coordinates data retrieval, compilation and reporting for company's process safety key performance indicator metrics
  • Performs other related duties to meet the ongoing needs of the organization

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a similar degree field and/or equivalent experience
  • A minimum of 5 years related experience is required although employees typically have 7-10 years; oil and gas industry experience preferred
  • Experience in process safety, operations or maintenance; Process Safety Management compliance experience preferred
  • Knowledge of the PSM Standard (29CFR1910.119) and RMP rule (40CFR68)
  • Trained in facilitating HAZOP and What-if/Checklist PHAs preferred
  • Trained in a PHA software such as PHAPro, PHA Leader, PHA Works or PHA Workshop preferred
  • Strong communication skills, interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Special Demands

This job primarily operates in a professional office environment and routinely requires the use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copy machines, etc. Noise level is typically low. Frequently in a stationary, sitting position for prolonged periods of time. Regularly moves about inside the office to complete tasks, attend meetings or to access the copy machineor file cabinets. Periodically pulls/pushes doors open to move around the office. Occasionally may lift and carry objects up to 20 pounds.Occasional travel may be required.

Salary Range

The salary range for this job is \$94,400- \$119,100
