About the Job:

The Senior Vice President role is instrumental in driving the strategic growth and impact of VOANS through effective real estate development, asset management, and advocacy efforts. By combining expertise in real estate with a commitment to non-profit leadership and community service, the Senior Vice President plays a key role in advancing the organization's mission and vision.

Essentials:

Oversight of Development, Acquisition and Recapitalization of Real Estate Projects:

  • Lead the strategic planning and execution of housing and real estate projects nationwide.
  • Identify opportunities for development, acquisition, and recapitalization aligned with the organization's mission.
  • Negotiate partnerships, contracts, and agreements to facilitate project implementation.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices in real estate development.
Promotion of Public Policy and Non-Profit Leadership:
  • Advocate for policies that support the organization's development activities and elevate its role as a non-profit leader in housing and community development.
  • Engage with government entities, stakeholders, and community partners to promote VOANS mission and vision.
  • Represent the organization in industry forums, conferences, and policy-making discussions.
Stewardship of Real Estate Assets and Resident Services Programs:
  • Provide strategic leadership in the management and operation of VOANS' real estate assets.
  • Develop and implement capital investment strategies to optimize asset performance and enhance resident services.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Leadership team to align real estate strategies with the overall organizational objectives.
  • Oversee the development of service programs that meet the needs of residents and enhance their quality of life.

Collaboration and Strategic Planning:
  • Work closely with members of the VOANS Senior Leadership team to align real estate development initiatives with the organization's strategic priorities.
  • Contribute to the refinement and implementation of the VOANS Strategic Plan, particularly as it pertains to housing and community development.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence within the real estate and resident services teams.
Qualifications:
  • Advanced degree in a relevant field such as real estate development, urban planning, public administration, business administration, law, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 10-15 years of progressively responsible experience in real estate development, real estate management, resident services management, affordable housing, community development, or a related field, with a track record of successful project leadership and management.
  • Commitment to the mission, vision, and values of VOANS, including a passion for serving vulnerable populations, promoting social justice, and addressing systemic inequalities through innovative solutions in housing and community development.
  • Ability to work flexible hours.
  • Ability to travel as required.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree or equivalent
