i3 is looking for a talented and versatile Senior Software Engineer who has experience with Unreal Engine. You will work directly with supervisors, designers, and engineers in the support and creation of interactive mobile, web, augmented reality, virtual reality, desktop training systems, serious games, and distributed learning simulations - primarily working with Unreal Engine (UE) 5.
Responsibilities

• Candidate will develop software designs using best practices and object-oriented methodologies. Software will be developed using an agile-scrum development style.
• Integrating third-party libraries and applications into the overall system.
• Routine collaboration with team members in developing system capabilities.
• The candidate will be familiar with good configuration management practices and will be responsible for proper code maintenance, merging, and configuration management.
• Position Location: Huntsville, AL
• CONUS Travel required: Less than 10%

Qualifications
Required Experience

• Have a Bachelor's degree (or advanced degree) from an accredited college (ABET preferred) in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or the hard sciences.
• 7+ years of professional software development experience.
• 3+ years of professional Unreal Engine experience.
• Have experience developing games or simulations with Unreal Engine using both Blueprints and C++.
• Have experience with an agile development methodology and associated tools.
• Have experience with a configuration management software tool.
• Have experience with basic design patterns like the repository, factory, and decorator patterns.
• Security Clearance: Candidate must have the ability to obtain a SECRET security clearance.
• Be a US citizen.

Preferred Experience

• Prefer experience with Unreal Engine 5.
• Experience profiling and analyzing UE based games to maximize performance.
• Experience building plugins and utilizing 3rd party libraries with UE.
• Experience with networking in Unreal Engine is a plus.
• Experience with World Partition is a plus.
