General Description / Primary Purpose:

The SEIR's primary responsibility is to develop and leverage strategic relationships deepening sport industry connection to UNF's sport management program, promoting value-added benefits for our strategic partners, and driving new revenue opportunities for the advancement of UNF sport management. The Senior Executive in Residence (SEIR) will be an appointment for an individual who has extensive sport industry experience and is highly successful and knowledgeable in the sport management field.

Job Function:

Essential Functions

The SEIR will devote the majority of their time to assisting with the development of sport industry partnerships that lead to the following possible outcomes:

  1. Increased employment/internship opportunities for students at UNF - specifically in the BS in Sport Management, the MEd in Athletic Administration, the MBA/Sport Management Concentration, and the MS in Data Analytics/Sport Analytics Concentration.
  2. Increased opportunities for field experience placements for students in the BS in Sport Management, the MEd in Athletic Administration, the MBA/Sport Management Concentration, and the MS in Data Analytics/Sport Analytics Concentration.
  3. Increased fund-raising opportunities for the Sport Management Programs.
  4. Increased opportunities for funded projects in the Sport Data Analytics Lab.
  5. Establishment of deeper and more meaningful partnership that will lead to funded projects intended to benefit both the institution and the sport agency.
  6. Work with students and faculty to ensure students are getting the most up to date industry relevant skills and technical knowledge needed to be successful in the sport industry.

The Dean, in collaboration with the Department Chair can make adjustments to this assignment as needed.

Required Qualifications:

This position requires either (a) Master's degree from an acceptable accredited institution in a directly related area of specialization and two years of experience directly related to the job functions; (b) Bachelor's degree from an acceptable accredited institution in a directly related area of specialization and four years of experience directly related to the job functions; or (c ) 6 years of direct experience.

Departmental Requirements:

The successful candidate will have the following:

  1. Extensive and high-level sport industry experience with specific focus on partnership building and development.
  2. Experience with sport data analytics.
  3. Proven record of leadership in the sport industry at the executive level.
  4. Proven ability to set and measure goals related to fundraising and development.
  5. Preferably a master's degree or higher in a sport management or business-related discipline with extensive practical experience (10 years or more preferred).
