Primary Objective

Responsible for monitoring traffic in and out of complex, monitor parking lots, and patrol plant and office complex.

Major Function and Scope:

• Monitor and control entry/exit of personnel, visitors, and vehicles at facility.
• Assist with monitoring, reporting, and responding to security and safety incidents.
• Monitor departments two-way radio system
• Conduct plant, parking lot, and grounds rounds/tours
• Maintain and configure security technologies
• Monitor cameras, access control, fire system and other equipment in a continuous fashion
• Provide access control assistance to multiple facilities
• Locks and unlocks doors according to schedules
• Facilitates planned drills, events, and simulations
• Log all required vehicles entering/exiting grounds and direct them as necessary.
• Ensure that all calls are answered promptly and handled in a professional manner
• Complete Daily Activity Reports, Logbook entries, and all relevant reports related to job assignment.
• Respond to incidents of inclement weather, bomb threat, fire, medical emergency, vehicle, and other incidents.
• Check truck seals on containers as required.
• Monitor and provide parking control for office complex and plant areas.
• Answer phone outside of normal business hours and direct calls as needed.
• Assist in keeping work areas in a clean orderly manner.
• Conduct DOT Drug & Alcohol tests
• Attend any job-related training deemed necessary by supervision
• Follow all established standard operating procedures
• Perform general housekeeping duties as necessary
• Perform other tasks assigned by management

Knowledge, Experience, Certifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required

Competencies:

• Interpersonal and judgement skills.
• Must be detail oriented and possess excellent follow up skills
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with a demonstrated ability to interact effectively with individuals at all levels in the organization including customers.
• Working knowledge of computers and good typing skills (Outlook, Webmail, MS Word, Excel, AS400 & Electronic mail required).
• Working knowledge of any security systems, fire systems, CCTV system, and other such equipment
• Must be able to read and write legibly.
• Ability to deal with problems involving variables in standardized situations.
• Must be able to motivate and work well with others.
• Willing to work nights, weekends, holidays, and call-ins
• Must have and maintain a valid state's driver's license
• Must have and maintain personal vehicle insurance coverage
• Must have a clear driving record for past five (5) years
• Must have good attendance and performance record

Physical Requirements / Other Pertinent Job Information:

• Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, and climb stairs.
• Occasionally required to look at reports and cameras.
• Ability to manage time effectively
• Occasionally lift or carry up to 40lbs
• Ability to drive, stand, and walk for entire shift on various times/places
• Neat and professional appearance in uniform
• Ability to perform in a high-pressure environment and/or crisis and render good decisions to resolve the problems
• Must be able to work 8-12 hr shifts either day or night, weekdays, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.
• This position has the responsibility and authority to report to management any safety problems, and potential problems encountered while performing the job.
• Work in an office environment.
• Occasionally work in normal industrial environment with inherent background noise, dirt, humidity, and temperature variations.
• While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly exposed to moving vehicles and equipment.
• Frequently exposed to outside weather conditions
