DiscoverX is searching for a QC Supervisor to work in Fremont CA.

The successful candidate for the Senior Scientist position will join the Cell Services team with a multifaceted approach for providing high value services based on the Eurofins DiscoverX platform and other proprietary technologies.

QC Supervisor responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following :

• Provide supervision of Quality Control (QC) associates and oversees the day-to-day activities include review and approve QC data

• Perform QC for reagent formulation and other QC resting as required

• Assist the Manager to lead daily Performance Management meeting with QC, Cell Production and PD teams

• Implementation operating plans and strategies to improve TAT, high quality cell-based product and on-time delivery

• Develop strategies for streamlining work flow, reducing costs, increasing capacity and efficiency

• Develop and implement strategies to improve assay reproducibility

• Provide career coaching, growth and personal development for QC associates

• Identifies and mitigates risks in QC labs that could negatively impact the safety or quality of the product

• Provide leadership support during trouble shooting

• Responsible for maintenance of the cell bank stability programs

• Support CAPA, ECN, SOP, method transfer in a complaint manner

• Generation CoA and work closely with QA to release production lot for Bioassay and Cell Bank

• Working closely with R&D to ensure smooth, efficient and the successful execution of new cell-based assay method transfer of new Bioassay and cell lines to QC team

• Optimization of process improvement to increase pass rate, efficiency, throughout, and implementing process changes

• Culturing and expansion of clonal cell line, assay ready, and bioassay cells following detailed SOPs

• Prepare protocols or reports for prospective new process/equipment for validation and qualification activities

• Prepare reagents and cell culture media using aseptic technique

• Maintain laboratory equipment, reagent inventories, electronic laboratory notebook and Product Database

• Provide cross-functional support to other departments as required

• Participation in and presentation at weekly group meeting

• Generate new or revise QC SOPs

• Other duties as required and assigned

The ideal candidate would possess :

• Must be detailed orientated and consistent in experimental approach.

• Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills are required.

• Must be able to work as a member of a team and independently.

• Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills.

• Must be comfortable and experienced working in a commercially focused lab environment.

• Experience with GLP or GMP is preferred.

• Must able to follow SOPs, make careful observation, and to keep clear and complete records of work.

Basic Minimum Qualifications :

• B.S or Masters in a relevant life sciences with at least 5 years of cell- based assay experience.

• Expertise in GPCR, cAMP, Checkpoint, and Ca2+ assays strongly desired.

• At least 2 years of supervisory experience.

• Experience with various aspects of cell-based assay trouble shooting.

• Strong demonstrated experience building or leading team.

• Ability to apply Lean concepts is preferred.

• Hands on experience with cell culture and aseptic technique is required.

• Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship

Position is full-time, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m., with overtime as needed. Candidates living in the Fremont, California area are encouraged to apply.
