Public Affairs Coordinator

Location:Fort Mill, SC

Reports to:VP, US Public Affairs

Overview:

A dynamic team player who works independently performing a wide range of complex and confidential duties to support the U.S. public affairs team with their policy and advocacy efforts on a diverse range of issues. Responsible for managing several key functions for the company political action committee (PAC) and coordination of federal, state, and regional government/public affairs work. Communicates with and coordinates services with an extensive list of internal and external contacts. Anticipates and resolves problems and updates team on status of projects.

Job Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

Political Action Committee Project Coordination

  • Review and coordinate campaign event schedules to create Washington, DC itinerary.
  • Prepare briefing papers for meetings with Members of Congress.
  • Organize employee database and prepare materials for solicitation campaign.
  • Maintain PAC budget.
  • Review PAC Match participants, designated organizations, and coordinate funding.
  • Assist with preparation of other PAC materials such as the Annual Report, program presentations and PAC updates to eligible employees.
Public Affairs Support
  • Prepare correspondence, presentations, reports, etc. for the public affairs team.
  • Maintain public affairs budget and process invoices.
  • Maintain extensive contact and facilities lists.
  • Maintain filing system for contracts and invoices.
  • Arrange meeting details.
  • Arrange and troubleshoot IT issues with team.
  • Assist with US lobby filings as needed.
Key Skill Sets:
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to interact appropriately with all levels of government leaders and business executives
  • Self-starter and able to manage multiple projects.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to draft, edit and prepare correspondence, reports and other materials.
  • Ability to monitor and reconcile budgets and accounting processes.
  • Ability to prioritize work in an environment with multiple and conflicting interests.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to handle complex and confidential information with discretion.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in related field and/or minimum of 3-5 years relevant experience.
  • Competency using a variety of computer software and computer skills as required.
  • U.S. citizenship or Permanent Resident status (required for work on PAC).
  • Previous government relations/public affairs or political action committee experience preferred.
