Job Summary

The Production Manager ensures safety while overseeing and maintaining the organization's Production Dept. This role collaborates with site Management and Production leaders on all production related items. The Production Manager creates goals and hits production metrics while ensuring, training, various compliance matters, discipline, employee engagement and retention. They consistently demonstrate, promote and display behaviors aligned to the BOL core values.

Responsibilities

  • Create a safe and clean work environment/culture for all employees
  • Ensures only good, quality product is being produced
  • Implements policies and procedures to drive continuous improvement
  • Responsible for plant production metrics; (scrap, pounds, feet, costing etc.)
  • Responsible for controlling spending within the plant
  • Must mange and meet / exceed conversion cost metrics
  • Ensures all necessary tools and equipment are available and in working order
  • Ensures production schedule is followed
  • Use root-cause / corrective action process to drive continuous improvement
  • Communicate with Shift Supervisor and Product Lead daily
  • Address any personnel concerns. Escalated to HR as necessary
  • Completes and processes time-off requests and timesheets for payroll timely
  • Creates and maintains production procedures
  • Participate in interview process for Supervisors and all production positions
  • Develops and trains Supervisors
  • Works directly with Plant Management to ensure plant culture standards are being met

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years managerial experience with demonstrated progressive responsibility
  • 4-year degree in related discipline or years of experience to offset
  • Experience working in production organization is preferred
  • Professional and Personable, great communicator both written and spoken
  • Strong computer skills including SAP, Excel, Power point, Word, and Microsoft office
  • Strong problem-solving skills a must
  • Comfortable rolling up sleeves to learn and coach
  • Passionate, action and detail-oriented leader
