Job Summary
As the Product Owner you will be responsible for working on the transformation of our client's reservation and peripheral systems.
Job Description

We are looking for a Product Owner to be responsible for spearheading a significant transformation within our client's reservation and peripheral systems. This position will be full-time, onsite, and is a contract position renewed semi-annually.

What You'll Do

  • Backlog Management: Taking charge of the product backlog, ensuring that it aligns with the overarching product strategies
  • Task Translation: Converting product managers' strategic visions into actionable development tasks
  • Business Analysis: Reviewing, analyzing, and evaluating business system requests and user needs
  • System Enhancements: Assisting in the planning and execution of system modifications and the rollout of new systems
  • Requirements Engineering: Conducting comprehensive requirements gathering, process analysis, and crafting detailed user stories to support business objectives
  • Solution Design: Envisioning, prototyping, and advocating for IT system approaches that address and resolve business requirements
  • Technical-Business Liaison: Deciphering the business impact of technical solutions within the prevailing business environment
  • SDLC Adherence: Implementing industry standards and best practices within the Software Development Life Cycle, including SCRUM and AGILE methodologies
  • Tool Utilization: Leveraging requirements modeling and testing tools to meet business requirements
  • Team Coordination: Organizing and leading regular team meetings and presenting organized and informative updates
  • Business Unit Interface: Acting as the principal contact for the designated Business Unit(s), understanding their goals and challenges
  • Continuous Improvement: Identifying and advocating for opportunities for change and managing the process of innovation effectively
  • Quality Assurance: Overseeing the testing and certification process, as well as addressing system issues as needed
  • Decision Support: Providing ad-hoc analyses to inform decision-making on product design
  • Additional Duties: Undertaking other job-related responsibilities as assigned by your supervisor or management

What You'll Need

Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer or Information Sciences, Business, or a related field, or 5+ years of relevant Business/Technical experience
  • Advanced skills in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, with an in-depth understanding of complex formulas and data analysis techniques
  • Experience with financial modeling and a keen sense of how to allocate funds to fulfill company objectives
  • A logical approach to dissecting the strengths and opportunities of various solutions.
  • A knack for identifying complex issues and devising effective solutions
  • Proficiency in creating, editing, and delivering compelling slide presentations
  • The ability to fully engage with what others communicate and comprehend the points being made
  • Skill in reconciling differences and convincing others of your perspective

Desired:
  • Certification as a Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) is a plus but not a requirement
  • Demonstrated capability to juggle multiple responsibilities
  • Broad knowledge of how technology can drive performance across business areas
  • A high degree of creativity coupled with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to engage with all levels of personnel
  • Solid PC skills are a must

Physical Demands
  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state, and local standards
  • Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc.
  • Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor.
