Job Description

Key Responsibilities and Priorities:

  • Safety is our number one priority. This role will promote safety culture through safety toolbox talks, safety committee participation, & positive reinforcement programs.
  • Lead, coach, and provide direction to the Planning team.
  • Develop production plans according to sales order demand and forecasts.
  • Plan material requirements and schedule production activities in a multi-site environment.
  • Determine production requirements based on plant capacity and demand.
  • Define a clear set of planning methods and ensure each part is covered.
  • Partner with cross-functional groups to anticipate, mitigate, and prevent delivery delays and disruptions to customers.
  • Lead weekly operations planning meeting with KPI reports on planning and manufacturing adherence.
  • Manage forecasts and collaborate with Operations to develop capacity requirements plans.
  • Contribute to the improvement of the ERP system.
  • Lead the S&OP process and use the results to set production schedules and material requirements.
  • Drive and sustain cost-effective, efficient production through the application of lean manufacturing principles.
  • Lead the response to customer lead time requests by coordinating and collaborating with Purchasing and Operations teams.

Supervisory Responsibility
  • Create a positive, healthy, conducive work environment for the team in line with Ancra Cargo core values.
  • Develop and manage individual planning team KPIs.
  • Train and coach Planners in the optimal use of the ERP system.
  • Conduct Planner's performance reviews on an annual basis.
  • Actively lead, participate, and engage in initiatives and projects aimed at improving KPIs, problem-solving structures, culture, and employee retention.
  • Recommend measures to improve safety, production methods, equipment performance, and quality.

Position Consults with: Customer Service, Operations, Purchasing, Sales, Accounting, and Engineering.

Years of Experience & Qualifications Required:
  • 3+ years of management/supervisory experience with a mid to large-size manufacturing company.
  • 5+ years' experience with capacity planning in a modern ERP system. Experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX or D365 is a plus.
  • Competency with Microsoft applications, with advanced Excel spreadsheet skills.
  • Articulate and persuasive; ability to communicate difficult and complex matters transparently.
  • Strong and independent organizational, analytical, detailed planning, and project management skills.
  • Ability to turn data into actionable information.
  • Self-directed, with the ability to communicate findings, make recommendations, and facilitate change.

Education Requirements: Bachelor's degree in supply chain, APICS/CPIM, Business Management, Logistics, or a similar field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Working Conditions/Travel Requirements: Normal manufacturing environments should be expected. Use of safety glasses, safety shoes, and hearing protection may be required. Occasional travel to other Ancra Cargo sites.
