Position: Photography and Video Project Manager

Department: OXO, Brand Design

Work Location: New York, NY, Hybrid (work 3 days onsite)

Hybrid Schedule: Helen of Troy associates enjoy the advantages and flexibility of a hybrid working model, allowing for in office 3 days minimum, and remote 2 days. Any changes to this working model would be communicated accordingly.

What you will be doing:

The Photography and Video Project Manager handles the full lifecycle of photography and video production from project kickoff to asset archival for OXO Marketing. This person has impeccable organization, scheduling, communication and budget forecasting expertise, and extensive experience in negotiation and vendor management.

With a constant focus on optimizing efficiency and operational excellence, the Photography and Video Project Manager is responsible for planning, managing, and delivering all video and photography projects on time and on budget. This person partners directly with key functions of the marketing team and internal partners to develop the budget and plans for 18+ months of photo and video production based on business priorities, product launches and marketing campaign schedules. With passionate attention to detail, this person maintains project spreadsheets, status documents and budgets, providing constant insight to marketing leadership into photography and video progress and cost. This person also leads and mentors the Assistant Creative Producer who runs OXO's custom 2,000 square foot photo studio including full set kitchen and prep kitchen and three sets, and who plans, schedules, and produces over 200 photo shoots per year.

  • Lead planning, budgeting, and execution of all OXO photography and video projects for e-commerce, marketing, packaging, and retail.
  • Collaborate with marketing leadership to advise product launch and marketing plans through photo and video production.
  • Analyze product pipelines and marketing objectives to forecast budgets for up to 18 months of shoots.
  • Proactively update and maintain budgets and schedules to provide accurate insight to management and cross-functional partners.
  • Run all aspects of production including timelines, talent, hiring agencies, studios/locations, logistics, and asset filing.
  • Maintain planning activity despite priority shifts, seeking answers and adjusting as needed.
  • Continuously assess processes for growth and efficiency, identifying and handling risks.
  • Be responsible for maintenance and improvement of internal photography studio.
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams to resolve timelines and support needed to complete business objectives.
  • Develop project plans and schedules, ensuring team members are advised and equipped to meet deadlines.
  • Proactively address obstacles to prevent delays in project achievements and deliveries.
  • Optimize resources and costs to improve productivity and decrease spending, while measurably improving studio efficiency and output.


Skills needed to be successful in this role:
  • Confirmed experience working cross-functionally with diverse set partners from internal and external functions.
  • Experience collaborating in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.
  • A self-starter with exceptional interpersonal skills
  • Strong prioritization skills, including the ability to juggle multiple responsibilities with conflicting deadlines.
  • Forward-thinking, and solutions oriented.
  • Very organized and possesses an eye for detail.


Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 5+ years' experience producing video and photography, project leading photography and video shoots.
  • 3 years' experience directly managing a team.
  • Validated experience producing video and photography content.
  • Expertise in project leading video and photo projects through all stages of development, including budgeting, scheduling, team coordination, and post-production.
  • Experience in video and photography departmental budget management and vendor negotiation.
  • Expertise in video and photography production specs and standards to ensure assets are scoped and delivered correctly.
  • Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite
  • Experience with project management tool
  • Experience with a DAM system


In New York City, the standard base pay range for this role is $98,493.50 - $147,740.25 annually. This base pay range is specific to New York City and may not be applicable to other locations. Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to location, experience, skill level, and performance. The range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees.
