Job Summary

  • Works closely with the Raclin School of the Arts Production and Marketing staff to support the planning and execution of the Summer Music Festival and Institute at Indiana University South Bend.
  • Helps reduce the day-to-day administrative burden of the Euclid Quartet, allows them to focus more on the artistic aspects of the festival.
  • Oversees student workers assigned to specific tasks related to the project plan and the 10-day event.
  • Implements the project plan and ensures all deadlines are met for the Summer Music Festival and Institute at IU South Bend under the direction of the Euclid Quartet.
  • Coordinates with the Raclin School of the Arts Production and Marketing staff and the Euclid Quartet to develop and implement marketing strategies to attract participants, audiences, and sponsors.
  • Manages the logistics for guest artists, RAs, suppliers, caterers, and any other hires or partners needed.
  • Manages the logistics for student applicants and participants.
  • Manages inquiries regarding the program.
  • Manages schedules, venue arrangements, and equipment needs.
  • Coordinates between Housing and Residential Life, festival co-directors, and student RAs to ensure smooth dorm experience for festival participants.
  • Handles logistics of non-musical festival activities (e.g. transportation, catering, chaperones, waivers, supplier payment).
  • Provides dedicated in-person assistance for the day-to-day administrative responsibilities from July 15, 2024 - July 28, 2025.
  • Performs other administrative duties as necessary.

Qualifications

EDUCATION

Required
  • High school diploma or equivalent (such as HSED or GED)
WORK EXPERIENCE

Preferred
  • Experience in event planning and coordination
  • Arts administration experience
SKILLS

Required
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Attention to details
  • Ability to consistently meet deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred
  • Knowledge of and interest in music and the arts

Working Conditions / Demands

This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.

Advertised Salary

$18.00 - $22.00 per hour

Work Hours

The duration of the position will be May 15, 2024 - August 15, 2025, with a maximum of 700 hours.
