Our Team

We deliver endocrinology and diabetes care in an outpatient setting located on the Newton-Wellesley Hospital main campus (2014 Washington Street, in Newton, MA).

Our endocrinologists help people with diabetes and hormonal disorders successfully manage their conditions. Patients receive state-of-the-art diabetes treatment through our team's advanced and effective techniques. Conditions treated:

  • Diabetes management
  • Osteoporosis
  • Thyroid disorders and tumors
  • General endocrinology
The Opportunity

We are seeking a Part-time, 20-hour Department Coordinator to support our team onsite 4 days a week from 8:00am- 1:00pm. We are open Monday through Friday, and we are flexible to work with the candidate's schedule when scheduling shifts!

Department Coordinators play an integral part in the operations of our community-based physician practices. Dedicated to administrative support, these Coordinators serve as the gatekeepers of our practices and ensure that teams are delivering the highest quality experience, exceeding our patients' expectations.

Support responsibilities may include:
  • Leading up to the patient visit, Department Coordinators schedule all appointments, conduct reminder outreach, and obtain Prior Authorizations from insurances when needed for specific exams.
  • During the patient's visit, the focus is check-in, which includes greeting patients, answering all of their questions, collecting co-payments, downloading diabetes meters and assisting with any pre-visit paperwork/forms.
  • At the conclusion of the visit, during check-out, Practice Coordinators are tasked with scheduling follow-up appointments, tests, and/or procedures.
  • Other duties include fielding all incoming telephone calls and triaging appropriately, monitoring patient flow and waiting room activity, and providing general support to practice leadership, clinicians, and peers.

We are looking for well-rounded customer service professionals who can multi-task, prioritize, and thrive in a high-volume outpatient setting! When hiring, we look for candidates who possess not only the relevant skills and competencies, but also positive attitudes, empathy, and genuine passion for this work.
  • High school graduate or equivalent with minimum two years medical office experience; Associate's Degree preferred.
