Job Title:Nursing Program Coordinator 2: Stroke - East HospitalDepartment:Brain and Spine | Neurovascular Stroke Center

In collaboration with physicians, nursing and administrative leadership, the Stroke Coordinator implements and monitors treatment protocols and performance improvement activities of the Ohio State University Medical Center Neurovascular Stroke Center for East Hospital. The coordinator, in collaboration with the stroke program at University Hospital will provide leadership for development, implementation and evaluation of clinical pathways, clinical procedures, guidelines, and protocols in an integrated health system-wide approach. Assures institutional readiness and compliance for the Joint Commission Comprehensive Stroke Certification. Participates in stroke prevention initiatives and community outreach through partnerships with community hospitals, physician and service groups.

Minimum Qualifications

For Hire:

Bachelor's degree in nursing or related field, RN with active Ohio license with a special interest in vascular disease and stroke care; master's degree preferred, or additional certification or experience commiserate with position requirements. of administrative experience including management, program development and quality improvement initiatives preferred. Experience with The Joint Commission Primary and or Primary Stroke Center certification preferred. Experience collaborating with and or educating Emergency Medical Service Providers preferred.

On going:

Maintaining licensure and stroke education needs as required by The Joint Commission.
