New Graduate Nurse Residency
Cooley Dickinson Hospital (CDH)

Northampton, Massachusetts

Cooley Dickinson Hospital (CDH) is committed to supporting new graduate nurses with a pathway to success as you transition from nursing school to practicing registered nurse. Our Nurse Residency Program and Specialty specific orientation programs will provide you with increased clinical support and education during orientation.

Cooley Dickinson Hospital also offers a Mentorship program which is designed to help transition to a professional nursing role during your first year of clinical practice. The program fosters trust, vulnerability, empathy, and respect. It begins at the conclusion of your orientation and lasts throughout your first year here at Cooley. You will be paid an hour of time biweekly to meet with a mentor of your choice, at a time most convenient for you, about topics that are most important to you. Benefits to these mentorship programs include increased confidence, satisfaction, and collaborative relationships.

There are many additional benefits available to you as a nurse at Cooley Dickinson. You will have access to tuition reimbursement programs, loan forgiveness programs, free contact hour courses for license renewal, free AHA certifications as required for your role and paid educational time to complete them at CDH.
