The Network/UC Engineer II is primarily responsible for working on a team at the Red River Service Desk. This position will handle technical support requests directly from customers as well as escalation from other team members and field engineers. Our engineers are responsible for maintaining user uptime and improving their experiences through effective maintenance, problem identification and resolution activities, as well as growing and developing the organization's perception with existing customers through exceptional customer service. Candidates must be energetic and focused with a strong motivation to learn new technologies and management and maintenance processes. This position requires dedication, persistence, effective utilization of provided resources and the ability to deliver superior customer service.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Previous experience with fast-paced consulting or MSP environment a plus.
  • Troubleshooting network issues in switches, routers, and wireless solutions.
  • Comfortable with troubleshooting and managing firewalls (ASA, FTD, Meraki ,Palo Alto, Sonicwall)
  • Experience with VPN implementation, troubleshooting, and problem resolution.
  • Experience with SD-WAN
  • Experience with UCaaS
  • Monitors, troubleshoots and resolves Unified Communications (UC) and Network related issues, escalating as necessary
  • Set up, configure, troubleshoot and test on-premise Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM); Cisco Unity Connection (CUC); Cisco Unified Contact Center Express (UCCX), IM & Presence server. Cisco Phone MACD
  • Troubleshooting and maintain MRA with Expressway Core and Edge
  • Escalating problems to vendors
  • Work with monitoring tools to diagnose via logs and investigate failures or errors in the Network/UC environment.
  • Collaborate and communicate with other team members to provide good service and issue resolution
  • Typical workload but not limited to 70% Networking 30% UC


Minimum Experience and Other Required Experience
  • Minimum 3 year of related experience troubleshooting Network and UC.
  • Strong work experience with Firewall/Router/Switch/Wireless Troubleshooting and SD-WAN
  • Experience with site to site and client VPN configuration and troubleshooting
  • Experience with Cisco CUCM, CUC, UCCX, Expressway's, IM & P.
  • Experience with voicemail and unified messaging
  • Participate on on-call rotations
  • Ability to work weekends and/or off hours as necessary to meet clients' needs


Education and Certifications
  • Desired
    • Bachelor's degree in IT or related fields
    • CCNP Enterprise
  • Required Certifications: CCNA
