Basic Job Functions:

The Ladle Person will share duties between the LMF station and Ladle Wall. The Ladle Person will ensure containment of liquid steel through proper inspection and handling practices of every ladle processed. The Ladle Person will ensure that all Ladle components are operational prior to releasing for use. The Ladle Person will coordinate and communicate all ladle information between the EAF, LMF and Caster; and make timely and accurate decisions under pressure while following prescribed practices for ladle work while accurately recording the ladle tracking data. The Ladle Person will assist the LMF Operator as required, prepare accurate alloy setups, and clean Ladle Car tracks. The Ladle Person will be required to perform duties at all Ladle Walls effectively. The Ladle Person may be required to assist at Caster and Torches. The Ladle Person will maintain good housekeeping in the area of the Ladle Wall. The Ladle person must work in extreme heat, rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed. Able to meet all physical requirements with or without reasonable accommodations. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Requirements:

6 months prior refractory and/or Melt Shop experience

Preferences:

Prior LMF / Ladle Person Assistant experience
