The Operations Manager will be responsible for coordinating the Assembly team manufacturing processes. This position is responsible for meeting EHS, quality, production, financial targets as well as establishing operational objectives and meeting short and long term business goals. This role will develop and implement strategic and tactical activities to sustain strong business performance and positive work environment. Proven analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to anticipate and drive shifts in focus and priorities to sustain great performance are required.

A day in the Life:

  • Lead manufacturing and boxing teams to meet or exceed operational goals in safety, quality, availability, cost, productivity and inventory.
  • Proactively collaborate with internal customers and peers to drive continuous improvement initiatives, using Lean and Six Sigma principles.
  • Effectively apply resources to improve operational efficiency
  • Establish and sustain a strong culture of accountability and data driven decision making processes.
  • Lead and promote process improvement initiatives to drive strong performance in safety, product quality, and finance and process efficiency.
  • Promote a working environment that encourages employee involvement to achieve operational excellence.
  • Participate in regular capacity and strategic review to ensure supply chain integrity and optimal business support.
  • Proactively work with team members and other functions to exchange information relevant to area of responsibility to ensure adequate support towards meeting business objective
  • Mentor staff to elevate overall performance and achieve departmental goals and objectives.
  • Ensure that new products are transferable and meets design adaptability and quality manufacturing processes.
  • Promote positive and proactive work environment and ensure strong employee engagement levels
  • Act as an advisor to team to meet schedules and/or resolve problems
  • Handle the execution of special projects as assigned by Operations management
  • Travel as needed to other sites, customers and external development partners.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience
  • Demonstrated ability in manufacturing leadership
  • Strong leadership abilities with capability to use diverse resources, respond quickly, understand impact of changes and decisions, facilitate agreement, build collaborative relationships and understand customer's needs.
  • Ability to rapidly identify, adapt and respond to changes in environment and priorities.
  • Excellent communication, leadership and problem solving skills.
  • Work with individuals at all levels and functions of the organization
  • Practical application experience of PPI and Lean Manufacturing or other process improvement methodologies.
  • Proven track record to complete a strategic plan.
  • Proven ability to lead people, work optimally with cross functional teams, and to facilitate partnership across functional boundaries and regional site locations.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • MBA
  • 6+ years in Medical device or Pharmaceutical industry
Physical and Environmental Requirements:
  • Ability to work in a fast paced controlled cleanroom environment up to 12 hours a day with additional overtime as the need arises
    • The Clean-room is controlled at greater than 30% humidity with a temperature between 60º and 70º
    • The Clean-room has some ambient noise.
    • Specific gowning is required including: gloves, hair & beard net and face cover, safety glasses with no makeup / jewelry, and the like.
    • Position requires forceful gripping/grasping and repetitive motion including pushing and pulling
    • PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and understand chemical hygiene including labels and SDS (Safety Data Sheets), common chemicals are disinfect, solvents and IPA (Isopropyl Alcohol 70% and 99%)
  • Ability to stand and move about including reaching, bending, stooping, grasping
  • Ability to use hand tools and equipment including forceful gripping, grasping, pushing, pulling
  • Ability to infrequently lift and manipulate up to 40 pounds unassisted
