Our food manufacturing client is seeking a maintenance supervisor for their facility in southern NY. This is a direct hire full time position and the company will offer relocation assistance for candidates outside of a commutable distance.

This is a 12 hour shift, 2/2/3 schedule, 2days on, 2days off, 3 days on. Thus every other week is working and the next is a three day weekend. As you can see you would only be working 14 days a month.

They are looking for a skilled maintenance supervisor who has worked their way up from a tech role. This will be a very hands on position and you will be expected to lead your team by example and support and mentor less experienced techs.

Responsibilities:

• Use your natural leadership ability daily to build, lead, mentor, develop, and grow highly functioning teams of up to 40 maintenance team members.
• Partner with multi-functional teams within the Production and Quality Assurance groups within the plant.
• Ensure successful management, accurate training, and professional development of all maintenance technicians.
• Provide mentorship and direction to hourly maintenance employees on shift to maintain the plant facility, grounds, and equipment.
• Respond to maintenance emergency conditions with the accurate mixture of skilled craftspeople in order to minimize downtime, planning major repairs and installations.
• Establish critical system priority lists, ensure all materials used for work orders are tracked, and balance multiple projects simultaneously to completion.
• Leads and executes the department's quality systems to achieve quality goals.
• Coordinates the sanitation program effectiveness to ensure food safety standards are met in the department.
• Monitors team operations and makes recommendations for labor and manufacturing efficiencies, cost savings, and quality improvements.

Required Qualifications:

• Associates/Technical Degree with three (3) years of leadership experience
• OR five (5) years of experience in an industrial setting three (3) of which are in a leadership role.
• Ability to work 10-12-hour shifts.
• Experience with PLCs and automated machinery control systems.
• Industry utility background with boilers and ammonia refrigeration experience
• Experience with ammonia refrigeration or boilers

Preferred Qualifications:

• A Bachelor's degree in an Engineering or Industrial Management field including four (4) years as a maintenance supervisor in a dairy manufacturing facility (cheese, yogurt, cream, or milk).
• Experience with a Work Order Execution system within MAXIMO.
• CI experience
• Experience with ammonia above 10,000 lbs.
• Dairy products manufacturing
• PLC experience
