Maintenance Supervisor

The maintenance supervisor is responsible for ensuring continued production operations by completing preventive maintenance, general maintenance and emergency service on building and equipment, ensuring all are in proper working order while abiding by all specified rules and regulations. May assist in providing direction, establishing priorities, assigning tasks, coordinating work projects and the work of other personnel. This is a working lead position.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Carry out diverse skilled activities involving the troubleshooting, repair and maintenance on electrical/electronic, hydraulic and pneumatic mechanical systems; designate and monitor the work of personnel in order to achieve the completion of diverse tasks in relations to equipment and facilities.
  • Troubleshoot, repair and maintain all electrical components for facility.
  • Provide scheduled and emergency repairs to production equipment during production shift;
  • Install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production/facility equipment;
  • Offer suggestions for performance evaluations; oversee duties of designated crew members;
  • Comply with all safety and OSHA regulations;
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

  • High school diploma or GED. Technical school preferred;
  • Strong electrical experience required, experience in hydraulic and pneumatic systems preferred;
  • Experience in operating, troubleshooting and repairing various types of production machinery, preferably in a manufacturing environment;
  • Experience in LEAN manufacturing principles and Six Sigma a plus;
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written and oral instructions
  • Bilingual preferred

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Constant walking, use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl;
  • Frequent repetition of motions that may include bending at waist, sometimes climbing or balance;
  • Capable of lifting 50 lbs;
  • Specific vision abilities include: Close vision, distant vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Working near moving mechanical parts and sparks from welding;
  • May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles;
  • Occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock;
  • Very loud, noisy work environment;
  • Personal Protective Equipment must be worn at all times (safety boots, safety glasses, welding hood, welding gloves/sleeves, ear plugs, etc.)
