Basic Job Functions:
Nucor Steel Tuscaloosa is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Level 2 Process Control Engineer. The successful candidate will work closely with IT, operations and maintenance teams to develop and maintain the Computer Integrated Manufacturing Systems throughout the plant. This includes troubleshooting, repair, and the constant pursuit of process improvement. Nucor teammates are expected to participate in and promote an atmosphere of cooperation and team work while maintaining compliance in all areas of the site within our Quality Control System. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead and uphold safety policies, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Four-year Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering degree or equivalent years of related experience in Computer Integrated Manufacturing.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in a steel manufacturing environment
- Demonstrated understanding of automation in manufacturing
- Demonstrated understanding of relational databases and programming fundamentals
- Microsoft SQL Server (T-SQL) / Oracle Database (PL/SQL)
- C++ / C# / ASP.NET / Python / HTML5 / OPC
