Job Description Summary

This position is responsible for performing basic housekeeping duties to maintain the cleanliness of the facility. Perform heavy cleaning duties, such as cleaning floors, washing walls and glass and removing garbage.

Job Description

• Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing or vacuuming.
• Gather and empty trash.
• Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
• Mix water and detergents or acids in containers to prepare cleaning solutions, according to specifications.
• Comply with all safety policies, practice and procedures.
• Complete accurate paperwork for sanitation areas and job.
• Work in cold environment, both indoors and outdoors in all types of weather conditions
• Report sanitation deficiencies to Team Lead Sanitation both in written and verbal form.
• Sweep out freezer bays, racks and loading dock areas.
• Performs other duties as assigned by supervisory or lead personnel

Basic & Preferred Qualifications

Education/ Certifications:

• High School Diploma / GED Equivalent

Skills and Experience:

• Proven cleaning skills and knowledge of cleaning methods / techniques
• Must have be able to communicate effectively both in written and oral form
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment
• Ability to become forklift certified
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions effectively and efficiently.
• Ability to read and complete reports in English
• Ability to add, sub-tract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Read, understand, and obey all plant rules and practice safety as outlined in the employee handbook.

Physical Environment/Demands:

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, twist and turn regularly throughout the shift
• Ability to work a 10-12 hour shift
• Exposed to a noisy environment that varies from hot to cold in temperature
• Exposure to manufacturing environments for up to 10 hours per workday to include: loud noise, excessive heat, cold, wet, slippery conditions, dirt, fumes, smoke, smells and allergies
• Ability to do repetitious arm, wrist and hand movements required for job actions and procedures.
• Must be able to work with hands and arms overhead, and to work in or under the equipment.
• Requires manual dexterity, overall coordination and good balance to work both at ground level and in high places to perform job duties. Ability to operate work related equipment
• Work duties are primarily fulfilled in a freezer (temperatures ranging from 0 to 5 degrees Fahrenheit)
• Will work around forklift traffic.

Actual compensation may be higher or lower in the range based on various factors, including, but not limited to a candidate's work location, job duties, experience and expertise. A reasonable hourly estimate of the range for this role based on the variables previously mentioned is: $16.67 - $21.92
