Full-Time, Faculty, 9-month Academic position -Business, Marketing Management & Accounting Faculty. This is a Full-Time, tenure-track, benefited Faculty position beginning Fall Semester, 2023.
The faculty member will conduct their assignments and co-curricular college activities in a manner consistent with the philosophy and purpose of Aims Community College as stated in the school catalog. The primary purpose of the faculty member is to teach. The faculty member is also responsible for scholarly and creative activities (professional development), and service to the college.
* Combined teaching position to include business courses, principles of accounting and accounting systems.
* Use and develop appropriate computer-based technologies (including online instruction) to enhance student learning.
* Apply learning-centered practices such as creating and communicating clearly-defined outcomes for student learning; provide a diverse array of learning activities that are directly tied to defined outcomes; use assessment data to improve instruction and learning, participate in College-Wide dialogue about teaching and learning.
* Teach at any scheduled time including evenings and weekends and/or any campus/outreach site as assigned by the Accounting/Business Department Chairs or Academic Dean.
* Provide effective and high-quality instruction.
* Provide competent advising to students seeking the Associate of Arts' degree or certificates
* Develop and refine the curriculum as necessary to maintain currency in pedagogy and content.
* Engage in professional development to maintain currency in field.
* Adopt new teaching methodologies as appropriate.
* Fulfill service requirements by making meaningful contributions on campus and/or community groups.
* Participate in institutional and departmental recruitment and retention activities.
* Assist the department in program and curriculum review, revision, development and assessment of learning.
* Assist the department in the evaluation and selection of textbooks, other resources, and materials.
* Work toward fulfillment of the College's mission and purposes and implement department, division, and/or institutional goals as assigned; demonstrate a willingness to embrace and apply the provisions of the College's Mission Statement, Purpose, Philosophy and commitment to diversity.
* Collaborate in the development and implementation of diagnostic, formative, and summative assessments of learning for students in accounting/ business courses and program.
* Maintain positive and professional interpersonal relationships with students, faculty, staff, and administration.
* Work as a team member with a genuine spirit of cooperation and flexibility.
* Perform other duties as assigned by the Accounting/Business Department Chair or Academic Dean.
Teaching:
Interacting with students to provide opportunities to learn, creating conditions that facilitate learning, and using techniques and methods that create a high probability that learning will occur. To achieve such interaction, a teacher must possess three basic abilities:

Minimum Payment Amount: $47,736.00
Employees in these positions may be asked to participate in temporary assignments lasting less than 6 months (such as curriculum development, short term projects, meetings and substitute duties) which could amount to additional temporary pay.
