Instructional Aide I - Summer Camp Counselor

Essential Function:

To provide supervision both in and out of classes for the young students attending the camps.

Qualifications:

• Patience and friendly.
• Enjoys being around children.
• Comfortable using Microsoft Word.
• Able to lift containers with supplies weighing 30 - 40 pounds for short distances and pushing a wheeled cart with equipment.
• Applicant must be 16 or older to apply.
• At least two months of experience working in a camp or youth program is preferred.
• Babysitting/Sitting is considered.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinating set-up and breakdown of a classroom.
• Assisting the instructor with keeping order in and out of the classroom and reporting. inappropriate behavior to the teacher.
• Executing various in-class tasks assigned by the instructor.
• Helping the children with assignments where necessary or directed to.
• Gathering instructional supplies for class and returning them to storage at the end of each class session.

• Rate of pay of $17.00 per hour; maximum 24 hours per week.
• Temporary position.
• Official transcripts required prior to employment (if applicable).
• Recommended hire will be subject to pre-employment screenings.
• Triton College is an AA/EOE.
