DESCRIPTION

Under the direction of the Assistant Superintendent/Vice President, Human Resources and Employee Relations, performs a variety of technical clerical duties related to Title IX, protected classes, and compliance programs. Provides additional support to other aspects of human resources programs; including, but limited to, recruitment, compensation, benefits, risk management, workers compensation, and record maintenance of the District's personnel. Performs other human resources related processes or duties as may be assigned.

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES

The classification specification provides a summary of typical job duties performed, along with the general nature and level of work performed by employees in this classification. Duties may include, but are not limited to the following:

* Solicits from and provides information to employees, students, parents, visitors, public agencies and the general public regarding District policies and procedures pertaining to Title IX, compliance, and other forms of protected class misconduct. (E)

* Reviews, processes, and aids in the completion of human resources forms and related documents for compliance with applicable procedures and policies. (E)

* Conducts outreach to students, staff, and employees impacted by protected class misconduct and maintains a database of contacts. (E)

* Prepares, types, and distributes a variety of human resources forms, lists, correspondence and other materials related to Title IX and compliance. (E)

* Reviews and retrieves specific personnel and student data, finds discrepancies, or verifies information. (E)

* Retains and purges documents in accordance with record retention policies and regulations. (E)

* Creates and updates the District's Title IX and compliance website and materials; reviews all publications and websites for accessibility. (E)

* Proctors meetings; including, taking notes, distributing agendas, checking identification, distributing material, instructing and monitoring to ensure confidentiality and that instructions are being followed, collecting and accounting for materials used. (E)

* Oversees the District's compliance training requirements including scheduling, tracking, and assignment of trainings. (E)

* Coordinates, processes, and acts as a main contact for individuals needing the assistance of the Title IX Coordinator. (E)

* Assists with the District's interactive and reasonable accommodations process.

* Performs regular logging, filing and organizing of confidential records. (E)

* Assists Human Resources staff with technical duties as assigned.

* Performs related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Experience: Two years of general clerical experience including one year in a human resources office or role.

Education: Graduation from high school or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with Title IX and protected class investigations.

OTHER INFORMATION

* Methods, practices, terminology and procedures used in human resources, Title IX, and compliance.

* Relevant provisions of the California Education Code, Administrative Procedures and Board Policies, Title IX, and collective bargaining agreements.

* Applicable sections of State Education Code and other applicable laws.

* Laws, rules, regulations involved in assigned human resources activities.

* Good oral and written communication skills.

* Cultural competence and interpersonal skills using tact, patience, and courtesy.

* Record-keeping techniques, input, and data retrieval procedures for databases and computerized document and content management systems and manual filing systems.

* District organization, operations, policies and objectives.

* Modern office practices, procedures, and equipment.

* Microsoft Office suite.

* Proficient use of databases, spreadsheets, word processing and web-based programs.

* Correct English usage, grammar, spelling, punctuation and vocabulary.

* Perform a variety of technical duties related to Title IX, protected class investigations, reasonable accommodations, and compliance programs.

* Develop and maintain confidential human resources records and student records.

* Provide information and assistance to employees, supervisors, students, guests, and administrators.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

WORK DIRECTION, LEAD AND SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Work direction received from Human Resources Managers. Works collaboratively with Human Resources Technicians. Provide work direction to hourly and student workers.

CONTACTS:

Co-workers, other departmental staff, security, outside agencies, students, and the general public.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Works in an indoor, climate-controlled office environment with constant interruptions.

* Sitting and standing for extended periods of time.

* Carries items such as binders and documents weighing less than 10 pounds without assistance

* Rotates the head right or left from a neutral position to review work materials.

* Exchanges information with co-workers and customers regarding work related matters.
