Beacon Hill is excited to partner with a mission driving non-profit in Chicago in hiring an HR Coordinator to start immediately! As the Human Resources Coordinator, you will play a vital role in supporting the organization's mission by effectively managing human resources functions. You will be responsible for ensuring the organization attracts, retains, and develops top talent while fostering a positive and inclusive work environment. This role requires a proactive and detail-oriented individual with strong communication and organizational skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Recruitment and Onboarding:
    • Coordinate the recruitment process by posting job openings, screening resumes, scheduling interviews, and conducting reference checks.
    • Collaborate with hiring managers to develop job descriptions and ensure alignment with organizational needs.
    • Facilitate the onboarding process for new hires, including orientation sessions and necessary paperwork.
  2. Employee Relations:
    • Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries regarding HR policies, benefits, and procedures.
    • Address employee concerns and conflicts in a timely and confidential manner, promoting a positive work environment.
    • Conduct exit interviews and analyze feedback to identify areas for improvement.
  3. Benefits Administration:
    • Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other perks.
    • Assist employees with benefit enrollment, changes, and questions.
    • Liaise with benefit providers to ensure accurate and timely administration.
  4. HR Compliance:
    • Stay up-to-date with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
    • Ensure compliance with HR policies and procedures, including maintaining employee records and confidentiality.
    • Assist with audits and reporting as required.
  5. Training and Development:
    • Coordinate training and development initiatives to enhance employee skills and knowledge.
    • Identify training needs and collaborate with managers to develop appropriate programs.
    • Track training participation and evaluate effectiveness.
  6. HR Administration:
    • Maintain HRIS (Human Resources Information System) database and ensure data accuracy.
    • Prepare HR-related reports and metrics for management review.
    • Assist with HR projects and initiatives as needed.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 1+ years of experience in human resources roles, preferably in a non-profit environment.
  • Knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality.
  • Proficiency in HRIS and Microsoft Office Suite.
