PURPOSE:

This position will provide finance business partner support for the Technical Operations management team. This position is responsible for supporting the Supply Chain Services Controller in the preparation of all financial, accounting, operational, and internal control information to support meeting or exceeding established value stream goals within transportation, warehousing, and materials.



ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:


* Provide timely and accurate information for decision-making and performance tracking of customer, interplant, and international freight costs, warehousing, and materials operations.
* Complete month-end closing requirements (accruals, forecasts, reporting) to ensure accurate and timely financial reports.
* Execute monthly operations reporting, analyze actual versus plan comparisons, and provide cost explanations.
* Work with business partners to prepare departmental budgets, as assigned.
* Compile data, provide analytical support, and complete cost studies as needed.
* Support the development of departmental metrics and maintain scorecards.
* Create and update checklists, SOPs, and instructions for all duties.
* Conduct audits to identify department control issues and monitor compliance.
* Participate in the identification and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives.



SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position does not typically have supervisory responsibilities but may provide guidance to 1-2 salaried employees in the assigned department and/or departments.



QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required.

Education and/or Experience


* Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Supply Chain, or a related field. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of education.
* Minimum of one to two years of financial experience is required; logistics, supply chain, or manufacturing environment is a plus.
* Strong oral and written communication skills.
* Understanding of various financial functions including but not limited to basic cost accounting, accounts payable/receivable, and general ledger.
* Excellent computer skills and Microsoft products experience required. Intermediate Excel preferred. MS Access, EDW, or Power BI, JDE, and/or Oracle experience is a plus.
* Demonstrated problem-solving skills.
* Experience working in a team environment.
* Strong planning, organizational, and time management skills.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Typical office environment. The noise level is usually low. Occasional travel can be expected.
