Job Title: Family Law Paralegal
Job Description: A well-established family law firm in Burbank is seeking a skilled and experienced Family Law Paralegal to join their dedicated team on a temporary basis of approximately 90 days. The firm is renowned for providing top-notch legal representation in complex family law matters.
Family Law Paralegal Responsibilities:
* Efficiently organizes and manages family law cases, ensuring accurate and current documentation.
* Interacts professionally with clients, providing support during emotionally challenging times.
* Conducts legal research, supporting attorneys in case preparation and staying informed about changes in family law.
* Prepares legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery requests. Files documents with the court and coordinates filing procedures.
* Assists in the discovery process, drafting and responding to requests. Manages documents obtained through discovery.
* Utilizes electronic filing systems for court submissions, ensuring compliance and troubleshooting issues.
* Assists in trial preparation by organizing exhibits, witness lists, and trial notebooks.
* Participates in mediation preparation, attends sessions, and contributes to alternative dispute resolution.
* Handles the preparation and review of prenuptial and postnuptial agreements. Assists in post-judgment matters.
* Maintains clear communication with attorneys, clients, and team members. Collaborates to develop case strategies.
* Manages time effectively, prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines.
Family Law Paralegal Qualifications:
* Minimum 3-5 years of solid family law experience.
* Experience in divorce, child custody, property division, child support, domestic abuse, mediation, nuptial agreements, and post-judgment matters.
* Paralegal certification or relevant degree preferred.
* Proficient in legal research to support case preparation.
* Strong document drafting skills for pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
* Familiarity with court procedures, including filing legal documents and coordination with court personnel.
* Ability to work in a remote environment.
