Extension Veterinarian

Part-Time, 25%

The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign College of Veterinary Medicine invites applications for part-time, 25% appointment as an Extension Veterinarian. This position will be responsible for initiating, organizing, and executing collaborative programs with alumni, industry, professional organizations, non-governmental organizations, and governmental agencies to enhance the effectiveness of educational and outreach programs to further advance the mission and strategic plan of the College of Veterinary Medicine and the University of Illinois. Position responsibilities include curriculum planning, teaching, and management of resources.

Professional opportunities: We are seeking a candidate who is a team player and interested in utilizing and developing their clinical and teaching skills in a healthy, collaborative, busy and vibrant environment.

Requirements: Candidates must have a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine and five years' experience working as a licensed veterinarian. Preference will be given to candidates with a Master of Business Administration (MBA) or equivalent and/or 3-5 years' experience managing or owning a veterinary practice.

Duties: This position is a 25% appointment and will be a non-tenured, academic professional position with a starting date as soon as possible. The primary responsibilities associated with this position will be to develop targeted outreach programs in Illinois communities, teach course, host seminars and deliver training programs designed for knowledge to community members.

Salary : Commensurate with applicant's experience and qualifications.

Starting date : Anticipated starting date is June 15, 2024.
