Summer Engineering Internship

Job Description

The Frymaster Summer Internship Program is designed to expose high potential individuals to manufacturing systems and processes and will take place in Shreveport, LA. Interns will be working alongside Frymaster employees on projects that will have a direct impact on the business. They will learn how to balance operational execution with strategic thinking and gain uniquely valuable experience in a discrete manufacturing environment, while contributing to process improvements. Interns will be encouraged to identify opportunities for improvement and pitch ideas to address the problems they identify. Frymaster is committed to the professional development of students selected in the program.

Interns will be assigned to teams working on specific projects based on experience, academic background, and professional goals/interest.

Teams:

  • Manufacturing Engineering: Process flow, production parts picking/delivery/presentation, process mapping, time studies, and layouts.
  • Quality / Test Engineering: Electrical test equipment design, troubleshooting, calibration, non-conforming, inspection, auditing, and test processes.
  • Product Design Engineering: Mechanical and electrical product design, 3D modeling, prototype building, and testing.


  • Job Requirements:

    Must be currently enrolled and pursuing a degree in Industrial/Electrical/Computer/Mechanical Engineering at an accredited school. Must have completed Sophomore year coursework to be eligible.

    Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred but not required, although a demonstrable interest in industrial processes will be evaluated during the interview process. Students with any level of experience are encouraged to apply.

    Interns will work in office and shop floor environments with extended periods of sitting and standing. Must be able to communicate and engage with employees on the shop floor. Must be able to wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

    Normal business hours, up to 40 hours a week.

    Must have valid US work authorization.
