Our Team

Located at 978 Worcester Street in Wellesley, MA, the Sports Medicine team at Newton-Wellesley treats a large volume of sports-related injuries. Our specialists offer state-of-the art outpatient surgical treatment using regional anesthesia for conditions of the shoulder, knee, and ankle. We work with athletes at all levels, including: high school, college, professional athletes and weekend/recreational athletes.

Schedule

We are seeking a full-time, 40-hour Department Coordinator to support the practice onsite Monday through Friday from 7:30am to 5:00pm (shifts are staggered).

The Opportunity

We are a highly collaborative team who encourage our department coordinators to take on special projects that align with the individual employee's interests/goals! There is a lot of opportunity to collaborate in our clinic as well as with the Physical Therapy, Casting, and Occupational Therapy clinics.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Leading up to the patient visit, Coordinators schedule all appointments, conduct reminder outreach, verify insurance, and obtain Prior Authorizations when needed.
  • During the patient's visit, the focus is check-in, which includes greeting patients, answering all of their questions, collecting co-payments, and assisting with any pre-visit paperwork/forms.
  • At the conclusion of the visit, during check-out, Coordinators are tasked with scheduling follow-up appointments, tests, and/or procedures.
  • Other duties include fielding all incoming telephone calls and triaging appropriately, handling in-basket messages, monitoring patient flow and waiting room activity, and providing general support to practice leadership, clinicians, and peers.

  • High school graduate or equivalent with minimum two years medical office experience; Associate's Degree preferred.
