Security Clearance:

Must be a US Citizen eligible for a DoD Secret Clearance.

Job Summary:

Mid level database administration and support of Microsoft SQL infrastructure. Performs daily performance monitoring, configuration changes, and failover cluster support to a wide range of developers and customers in a high-availability environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Mid-level database administration and programmer support.
• Applies comprehensive knowledge of concepts, processes, practices, and procedures to technical assignments.
• Conducts all activities related to the administration of computerized databases.
• Projects long-range requirements for database administration and design in conjunction with other managers in the information systems function.
• Designs, creates, and maintains databases in a client/server environment.
• Conducts quality control and auditing of databases in a client/server environment to ensure accurate and appropriate use of data.
• Designs, implements, and maintains complex databases with respect to scripting languages, access methods, access time, device allocation, validation checks, organization, protection and security, documentation, and statistical methods.
• Applies knowledge and experience with database technologies, development methodologies, and front-end (e.g., COGNOS)/back-end programming languages (e.g., SQL).
• Performs database programming and supports systems design,
  • maintenance of database dictionaries,
  • overall monitoring of standards and procedures,
  • file design and storage
  • integration of systems through database design.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

Qualifications:

• 5 years of experience (esp.MS)
• Bachelor's degree

Physical Requirements:

Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time. Position may require typing and reading from a computer screen. Must have sufficient mobility, including but not limited to bending, reaching, and kneeling to complete daily duties in a timely and efficient manner. There is a possibility that due to parking availability and location of work, walking moderate to long distance may be required. Possible lifting up to 50 lbs.
