Data Reporting Analyst Senior - Mental Health Parity

Remote in ID, OR, UT, WA

Primary Job Purpose

The Mental Health Parity Data Reporting Analyst serves as a Mental Health Parity Addiction and Equity Act (MHPAEA) data and analytics technical resource and content expert. This role delivers data evaluation to support strategy and action, utilizes operational data to demonstrate regulatory compliance, and develops MHPAEA-related analytics tools. Reports directly to a senior leader and frequently collaborates with internal stakeholders in a matrixed environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in health care data analytics inclusive of medical and pharmacy claims.

General Functions and Outcomes

  • Health care data evaluation to ensure Cambia compliance with MHPAEA data reporting requirements.
  • Translate complex regulatory data requirements of MHPAEA into actionable and reportable operational metrics.
  • Acquire and master MHPAEA data collection and reporting expectations; apply knowledge when gathering and reporting metrics to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Work independently and as part of a larger team supporting various internal data analysts on identifying business challenges, gathering information, and evaluating solutions to meet objectives.
  • Prepare data visualization tools to assist with business area and senior leader understanding across a matrixed organization. Develop meaningful dashboards and presentations that use information to help guide decisions and support results.
  • Develop and design methodologies and approaches to new MHPAEA data tasks, projects, and reports.
  • Ensure quality of internal and external data reporting, including extraction, sorting, cleansing, aggregation and processing of data from multiple sources, and developing queries.
  • Identify opportunities to improve data integrity, recommend solutions, and participate in quality improvement efforts.
  • Develop knowledge of Cambia's health plan operations, health plan data sources and structures, and maintain access to all data systems impacted by mental health parity.
  • Document business requirements and methods used to generate work output.

Minimum Requirements

  • Highly advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of evaluation techniques.
  • Ability to develop models and complex queries.
  • Ability to synthesize analytical insights.
  • Proven ability to perform and manage difficult analytical tasks with minimal management assistance.
  • Demonstrated ability to work successfully in a remote office environment.
  • Knowledge of data mining and analytic programming tools and methods, including server reporting services (SAS, OLAP, SQL, Business Objects, Crystal, SPSS, Minitab, Tableau)

Normally to be proficient in the competencies listed above, the Mental Health Parity Senior Data Reporting Analyst would have a bachelor's degree in mathematics, actuarial science, statistics, computer science or related field and 7 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

The expected hiring range for a Senior Data Reporting Analyst is $91,000 - $123,100 depending on skills, experience, education, and training; relevant licensure / certifications; performance history; and work location. The bonus target for this position is 15%. The current full salary range for this role is $85,000 to $140,000.
