Curriculum & Program Developer for Diagnostic Medical Sonography ProgramSalary: $75.00 / HourClassification: Part-Time Hourly
The purpose of a Curriculum and Program Developer for a Diagnostic Medical Sonography (DMS) Program is to support the development of a Diagnostic Medical Sonography (DMS) Program at Olympic College. The Curriculum and Program Developer in the DMS position will outline curriculum requirements set by standards of practice from the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) and the Joint Review Committee on Education in Diagnostic Medical Sonography (JRC-DMS). The development of new healthcare programs supports the college's mission by establishing quality educational pathways for diverse communities of students interested in healthcare careers.

  • Develop curriculum for an Associate of Applied Science-Transfer Degree (AAS-T) Degree for a Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program
  • Support program development by outlining program requirements, establishing end-of-program goals, and timelines for program completion, and facilitating CAAHEP/JRC-DMS requirements. In compliance with industry standards of practice as it relates to curriculum and program planning.
  • Qualifications

    Minimum Qualification

  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant clinical experience, either in a DMS staff role, an instructor in a DMS program, or a combination of both, with the past ten years
  • Knowledge of industry standards of practice and regulation in DMS Programs
  • A graduate of an education program in DMS accredited by a nationally recognized programmatic accreditation agency.
  • Possess a credential in the field of DMS through a national certification program that is accredited by the National Commission on Certifying Agencies

  • Preferred Qualification
  • Experience in curriculum design and program planning.

    Terms of Employment
    Hourly employees must work 480 hours in a rolling six-month period to become eligible for health benefits. Hourly employees must work 70 hours in any five months for two consecutive years to become eligible for retirement. This is an hourly position scheduled to work up to 18 hours per week, with an hourly rate of $75.00. They are not initially eligible for benefits upon hire but could qualify for the following.
    Deferred Compensation Program (DRS) retirement savings plan; TIAA supplemental retirement savings plan, sick leave, paid holidays, Aflac, space available tuition waiver, Employee Assistance Program (EAP), fitness center, reduced rate, and priority consideration on-site childcare on a space available.

    Conditions of Employment
    Prior to a new hire, a background check including criminal record history will be conducted. Information from the background check will not necessarily preclude employment but will be considered in determining the applicant's suitability and competence to perform in the position. In addition to the background check, candidates will be required to complete the Sexual Misconduct Disclosure Form as required WB HB 2327.
