SUMMARY

The Coordinator will implement collaborative and integrated programming with a combined focus on student success and community engagement. The Coordinator will promote service learning and community awareness by connecting students to learning opportunities that help define their values and professional goals.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Plans, promotes, and manages events and programming for the Learning Commons (a group of co-located academic resource offices).
  • Works collaboratively to create opportunities to build community on campus and promote academic success.
  • Identifies community partners for students to complete service-learning projects.
  • Works with faculty and staff to facilitate community engaged learning including assisting with student service-learning hours, projects, and/or sites.
  • Aids with management of the Learning Commons budget, facilities, and resources.
  • Helps promote the work of the Learning Commons on campus and in the community.
  • Maintains records, including business and financial records, student records, and program review and reports.
  • Assists in greeting visitors, students, faculty, and staff, as well as managing questions about Learning Commons programs and resources.
  • Teaches "Learning through Community" (TREK 153).

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

MINIMUM

  • Master's Degree
  • Experience with service-learning, campus engagement, and/or experiential learning and/or experience with a selective, residential liberal arts college.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work with diverse groups of people
  • Well organized, self-motivated, and able to work independently and manage multiple projects
  • Computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, email, and database applications

PREFERRED

  • Terminal degree in a related field
  • Three or more years related experience
