Job Summary:

Reporting to the CFO, the Controller has lead responsibility for all internal and external financial reporting for CSH. The Controller will be responsible for preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements and reports and for preparing financial analysis for CSH Board of Directors, Senior Management and interested third parties. The Controller will oversee the accounting department including general accounting functions and controls and assist with financial plans and projects.

Main Accountabilities:

  • Accountable for the CSH financial statements.
  • Oversee the teams performing general accounting functions
  • Prepare analysis for reporting to CSH Board and 3rd parties.
  • e Primary responsibility for the timely and efficient completion of all external audits
  • Proactively assess emerging accounting rules and regulations.
  • Work with other areas of the company on projects or advise as relates to the financial functions.
  • Ensure that financial requirements are considered in Company projects and initiatives.
  • Lead responsibility for CSH internal controls around financial reporting.
  • Hire, supervise and develop staff in completion of the above.
  • Other duties/projects as assigned.

Qualifications and Required Skills:
  • Proven experience managing the preparation of financial statements and insurance company Annual Statements.
  • Familiarity with NAIC policies and insurance regulations.
  • Management and development of staff.
  • Ability, interpret and apply NAIC pronouncements to company situations.
  • Strategic thinking ability combined with ability to work at a detailed level. .
  • Good understanding of the health insurance industry, its products and operations.
  • Proven ability to speak to and communicate effectively with external audiences.
  • Ability to plan and accomplish duties in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Windows and Office products.

Education & Experience:
  • Undergraduate degree in accounting or finance. Masters degree a plus.
  • CPA or equivalent financial designation.
  • 12+ years of experience in financial and accounting roles, including 5 in management.
  • Public accounting experience a plus.
  • Health Insurance industry experience.
  • Familiarity with Oracle a plus
