Contract Duration - 3 to 4 Months, possibility for conversion
Location - Irvine, CA. Hybrid (Friday WFH)
Pay Range - $34 to $40/hour W2
SUMMARY OF POSITION
Our client makes delicious Organic nutritional products including nutrition shakes, protein shakes, protein bars and protein powders to help people lead healthy, vibrant lives.

The Buyer, Procurement will work closely with the Senior Buyers and the Procurement team to execute procurement activities for ingredients, packaging, and other production items as required. This position will be proactive and ensure that the best solutions are deployed for maintaining optimal control of sourcing initiatives and ongoing manufacturing and procurement activities.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
* Analyze demand using various tools and methods; analyze data, compile reports, and document purchasing requirements to support production at several manufacturing facilities.
* Create and send Purchase Orders within 72 hours of demand signal.
* Develop positive ongoing long-term relationships with suppliers and comans (contract manufacturers/independent beverage wholesalers) through high-touch and clear communication.
* Analyze and govern economic order quantities for all purchases; ensure that the right amount of materials are delivered to the production facilities at the right time.
* Ensure that all open POs are confirmed (pricing, quantity, and date) within 72 hours of issuance.
* Contact each vendor with requests for information regarding price, availability, quality, and documentation.
* Provide COAs and COCs to coman via email prior to delivery of materials.
* Schedule and coordinate supplier pick-ups and maintain ETAs for open orders.
* Manage inbound logistics of raw materials, ingredients, packaging and production supplies moving inbound. Assure on-time delivery and proactive communication of all exceptions to all affected parties.
* Check shipments to ensure quality and quantity of purchased items.
* Process proof of delivery requests.
* Identify expiring, excess, and obsolete ingredients and packaging; work on remediation plans to avoid, minimize, and prevent inventory obsolescence.
* Report inventory risks to Senior Inventory Specialist.
* Liaison with the Accounting team to reconcile invoices and purchase orders. Research any discrepancies and follow up with suppliers, buyers, and accounting to close issues timely and accurately.
* Reconcile open PO report for accuracy, past due items, accounting errors, receiving status, and complete purchasing cycle closure.
* Set individual goals for improving and expanding on everyday job functions, as well as on the greater social and environmental aspects of your work. We expect that you remain accountable to these goals and report your progress in performance reviews.
* Adhere to company's environmental policies, including our environmental purchasing and recycling policies.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
* 2+ years of relevant experience; focus in a CPG food manufacturing environment preferred.
