Examples of Work
Successful candidate will develop, monitor, and track budget expenditures for various Divisions within the Department of Administrative Services (DAS) with General and multiple cash and revolving funds providing complex and varied services to other state agencies. Duties will include working with upper management to perform critical budget functions such as budget preparation, conducting monthly financial status meetings, preparing analyses of expenditure and revenue trends and issues, establishing standard cost accounting procedures, monitoring compliance with federal regulations affecting working capital, and monitoring accounts receivable. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications / Requirements

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics, statistics, business administration or related field and experience performing fiscal and budgetary analysis for major business operations; experience can be substituted for education on a year for year basis.

PREFERRED: Experience with budget and or financial work and have a strong cost accounting background.

OTHER: Regular and reliable attendance. An Excel test is required as part of the interview process.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge: Must understand different software systems, understand government fund accounting principles and revolving funds, prepare accurate and readable budgetary reports, detect, and explain anomalies, ability to analyze the fiscal landscape and advise executive management accordingly. Skills: Strong communication skills are essential; being a power user of a large-scale enterprise resource planning (ERP) system such as Oracle's JD Edwards (E1) is a plus.
