Pay: $22.00/hour

Job Description:

This position is responsible for operating controls to follow the proper formulation and processing procedures for mixer/blender, while maintaining a safe work environment and following Tyson policies.

Responsibilities:

• Sets up equipment and loads recipe according to process order.
• Checks hood and discharge door seals of the blender, and records condition on log.
• Starts the batch by following procedures on the blender control panel. Recipe will involve automatic pumping the designated weight of raw materials into the bender, adding marination, and mixing for a prescribed time.
• Monitor nitrogen controls to assure batch is properly chilled.
• Check temperature of each batch prior to discharging into the hopper.
• Performs sanitation duties of machinery and floor area as needed.
• Ensure product specifications are met in accordance with customer specifications.
• Must adhere to all safety policies and operate equipment in a safe manner.
• Responsible for monitoring and reporting any wear and tear on equipment.
• Notifies Supervisor of potential contamination, mechanical or operational issues.
• Willing to cross train on other equipment in the area.
• Performs all other tasks as assigned.

Requirements:

• Must be able to stand for duration of the shift, as well as walking, climbing steps, bending, reaching, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to use simple measuring instruments: gauges, scales, thermometers.
• Ability to understand basic arithmetic, using a calculator
• Must be able to read equipment controls, recipes, and operator logs
• Able to work with minimal supervision
• Willing and able to work in a cold environment
• Must be able to work weekends and overtime as needed.
• Must be willing to work with Nitrogen and previous experience working with Nitrogen is a plus.

Rehire Criteria:

Rehire criteria is a minimum waiting period of 180 days.

Rehire Rule of no more than 3 times worked at Tyson Foods.
