Job Description

Job responsibilities:

  • Operate, maintain, and program/optimize BioMek FXp and i-series automated liquid handlers
  • Support automated VX workflow - ordering supplies, preparing reagents, coating ELISA plates, handling animal (mouse, cotton rat, rabbit, hamster, guinea pig, and NHP) and human blood, serum, and plasma) and creating serial dilutions for ELISA and other assays
  • Properly document and report experimental findings, assay protocols, and instrument programming and comply with all laboratory safety requirements.

Qualifications

Required experience and skills:
  • BS/MS with 3+ years of industry experience working withBioMek
  • Strong BioMek liquid handler experience, preferably including i-series training directly from Beckman. Additional experience with alternate liquid handlers is a plus, we also use Hamilton Vantage and Agilent Bravo.
  • History of maintaining sample sterility
  • Knowledge of applicable regulations regarding the use of pathogens (e.g. virus, bacteria, fungi), human cells and tissues, laboratory safety, health physics and chemical hazards in research.
  • Organized, independent, detail oriented
