Benefits Administrator

POSITION PURPOSE:

The Benefits Administrator is an employee facing role responsible for the coordination and administration of benefits and wellness programs to legal and company standards. The role provides ongoing support and communication to employees and managers on benefits related inquiries and oversees general day-to-day benefits related tasks and programs.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Processes QMCSO's, qualifying life events and new hire enrollments.
  • Assists with 401k enrollments and contribution changes
  • Requests, collects and verifies dependent and event verification documentation.
  • Answers questions and provides guidance on company benefit policies such as PTO, FMLA, Service Day, Paid Holidays, etc.
  • Coordinates and hosts monthly employee benefits onboarding sessions and welcome emails.
  • Coordinates the creation and modification of communication and promotion material for both wellness and benefits programs.
  • Assists other departments with benefit-related requests and questions.
  • Responds to daily benefit inquiries from managers and employees on: plan provisions, benefit enrollments, status changes, 401k and other general inquiries escalating requests and issues as appropriate.
  • Assists with open enrollment communication, coordinating on-site/virtual OE health fairs and supports system testing.
  • Updates benefits documents and distributed material when and where necessary
  • Assists with various research and/or special projects as needed.
  • Coordinates and drives wellness programs from creation to implementation.
  • Other HR related administrative tasks as needed.

SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Strong administrative and data management skills.
  • Self-motivated and detail oriented. A problem solver.
  • General knowledge of leave and benefits compliance.
  • Ability to handle sensitive, confidential information.
  • Ability to explain and educate on complicated topics.
  • Excellent public speaking and written communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively work with a range of personalities.

EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE:
  • Associate and/or Bachelor's degree
  • 1- 2 years of experience in benefits administration or 2+ years of experience in an HR capacity with benefits exposure
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suites (e.g. Excel, Outlook, Teams, Word, etc.).
  • Data entry experience on HR/Payrollsystems (UKG a plus)
  • Experience handling interpersonal relationships and sensitive HR issues.
