About the Opportunity:

The Regional Segment Manager (RSM) will contribute to our industry leading business growth at Life Fitness across our Athletics and Education functions. While this position is dedicated to all segments in this function, this role requires a passionate advocate for Life Fitness brands and products, with strong enthusiasm for Campus Recreation. The ideal candidate will have direct experience working in Campus Recreation and/or working with Campus Recreation customers.

The RSM will report to the Athletics and Education Director and will be responsible for maintaining and expanding existing relationships with current Athletics and Education customers and generating new opportunities for profitable growth with new accounts. Within the assigned territory, the RSM is responsible for achieving an annual sales quota and assigned strategic account objectives. The RSM represents the entire range of Life Fitness products and services to assigned customers, while collaborating with the Athletics and Education Director on segment strategy planning cycle and ensuring assigned customers' needs and expectations are met by Life Fitness.

A successful Segment Manager will be able to work independently and collaboratively with Regional Sales Directors and Direct Sales Representatives to build out sound business development plans for new customer acquisition along with growing our current customer base through both collaborative and individual focused selling efforts.

**Candidates will preferably live within any Greater Metro Area east of the Mississippi River.**

As AN RSM at LIFE FITNESS, you will

  • Establish productive and professional working relationships with key personnel in assigned accounts at the corporate level of all Athletics and Education accounts in the territory.
  • Communicate with and develop relationships with direct and dealer sales teams.
  • Plan bi-monthly promotions for sales and marketing outreach - work closely with Marketing, E-Commerce, Web, Social, and Product teams to communicate product promotion details.
  • Coordinate the involvement of company personnel, including support and service management resources, to meet segment performance objectives and expectations.
  • Meet assigned targets for profitable sales volume and strategic objectives in assigned territory.
  • Develop and present sales proposals and quotes to customers.
  • Maintain an in-depth knowledge of products, services, brand standards, competitors, and marketing plans, strategies, programs, and promotions.
  • Work cross-functionally (Credit & Leasing, Order Management, Service, Delivery & Installation, etc.) to ensure that a seamless and superior customer experience is delivered.
  • Grow and manage a sales pipeline and provide accurate sales forecasting within Salesforce CRM to management.
  • Manage National, Regional and State Purchasing and Partnership Agreements.
  • Provide timely resolution to Credit and/or Leasing issues and customer holds.
  • Create, develop and manage new customer acquisition efforts, working cross-functionally as needed with territory sales, business development and management.
  • Investigate and manage resolution of any issues that may impede prompt delivery and successful installation of customer orders.
  • Enter, update, track and manage all customer information within Salesforce.com including company CLM.
  • Work with Athletics and Education Director to execute holistic and strategic approach to deliver consistent value proposition to the Athletics and Education Segment.

What are we looking for in you?
  • Bachelor's Degree in business or relevant field
  • 3+ years of experience as an account or segment manager with proven track record of achieving sales targets
  • 5+ years of experience in Campus Recreation
  • Located within designated sales territory strongly preferred
  • Ability to effectively engage with executive decision makers
  • Demonstrated verbal, written and presentation skills
  • Ability to travel at least 50% of the time
  • Tech savvy, proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (e.g. Excel, Word & PowerPoint, Visio Docusign) is required; prior Salesforce CRM and Oracle experience a plus
  • Proven ability to work remotely efficiently with minimal supervision and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment to execute on strategic sales growth
