The Finance major is showing modest growth over the most recent five-year period. Graduates have been successful in securing career positions in the fields of insurance, banking, and financial planning. Many WSU students include an internship as one of their major courses. These courses may include Financial Management, Security Analysis, Advanced Financial Management, and Portfolio Management and several newly developed courses: financial modeling or Entrepreneurial finance, according to departmental needs and the candidate's expertise. Additional opportunities may include teaching in an anticipated Master of Business Administration (MBA) program currently under development. The faculty member may receive an alternative professional assignment as director of the Finance/Data Analytics Lab which may reduce the teaching load.
